Dave Alden Hutchison has always had an interest in visual storytelling, and for him there has been no greater creative outlet than writing and illustrating books for children and young adults.

​As a child moving from town to town, he was inspired by the books of Shel Silverstein and learned to make friends and keep bullies at bay by keeping them enthralled in his stories. When he isn't writing, he enjoys telling stories to his friends by the light of a nice campfire.
